I based my activities around social advocacy. The best place to start is at your local council. Your local councils will have a few “youth leadership” programs or youth committees. These are quite easy to participate in. once you get into your local council, the people that work with you often give you more opportunities to be engaged in other roles. Eg. My Youth Ambassador supervisor referred me to Victorian YouthCongress (state level advisory group). Many of these higher-up programs communicate to local councils/schools to reach out to young people its region.

My experience at Elite Admission was very smooth. They seemed to have a refined strategy and so I trusted that Ray and Rochelle knew what they were doing. They advised me on what schools I should apply for and what the overall theme of my application should be. Rochelle was really diligent whilst helping me write my supplementals, and she always asked me further questions to help me provide a more in-depth response to the prompts.

It was really efficient to come in to the office for a whole day and get a lot of work done so that I didn’t have to do too much work at home.

o What do you do outside of school?

o How would people around you describe you?

Apart from having a good application, I think it’s also important to try to build rapport with interviewer. My interviewer told me about the interviewing process for graduate school at Pennis more stringent than for undergraduate. She said that all graduate applicants require face-to-face interview with the faculty partly because they wanted to ensure the students could communicate well – basically that they could “hold a conversation”. So, I definitely think the interviewer wants to see if you are well-spoken and sociable and not just regurgitating your resume.
